Tan Stripey Card – A Simple Card for the Guys
Make a paper birthday card with card making ideas found on this handmade birthday cards website. Besides this featured simple birthday card design great for the birthday guy or man, there are other homemade birthday cards you can browse through here.
The inspiration for this more masculine card design came from card sketch #4 from “101 Creative Card Sketches“, but I’ve made variations to the sketch. Firstly, I rotated the sketch from a landscape card to a portrait card. Secondly, I’ve shifted the greeting label from one corner to the middle outer right of the big patterned paper block as shown above.
This card is in fact one of the three cards I’ve made by making alterations to the card sketch #4. Please click on the images for the instructions to making these cards:
If you like, you can see another three homemade birthday cards I’ve created by following the card sketch almost exactly.
For the paper choices, I’ve selected an earthy tan and dark brown color combination for a more masculine looking card. For the patterned papers, stripes or geometric shapes can convey masculinity. So the striped lines and color choices for this card help to unify a simple, masculine looking card that’s suitable for a birthday guy. The lime green stripes bring a tad of freshness to card.
Usually for men birthday cards, I try to keep things clean and simple, letting the colors and simple patterns take focus. Then for the greeting tag, I’ve inked the edges with timber brown ink for a slightly distressed look.
