Diamond Fold Birthday Card for Nicole

by Fion

Nicole's 2008 Birthday Card

Nicole's 2008 Birthday Card

This birthday card was inspired by Chris's diamond-folding card video tutorial.

It's my first attempt and thanks to Chris's easy to follow along instructions, I created this cute little 4"x4" card for my sister Nicole within 15 minutes.

Card Making Steps:
1. For the diamond-folding technique using the pink cardstock, please refer to to this video tutorial.

2. Cut out a square block from the red patterned paper and adhere it to the center of the cardblank. Stamp the greeting with a rubber-stamp using black ink.

3. Cut out two strips of lace ribbon and adhere them to the top of the card as shown. Embellish the card with buttons and flowers using foam pads.

4. Cut out two 4"x2" wide strips from the brown patterned paper and adhere them to the two "flaps" of the card.

5. On each flap, adhere two strips of scalloped-ribbons, one on the left and one at the right-hand side of the each flap.

Card Making Supplies:
Pink cardstock from The Paper Company
Patterned paper (reversible): Betty Patchwork by Love, Elsie.
Satin Bias Tape from Wheel & Anchor
Lace ribbon from Daiso Japan
Paper flowers from Prima Marketing
Buttons from stash
Rubber stamp from KaiserStamp
Black ink by Versa Color
