The main focal point of this card is the yellow happy birthday flower printable picture, which you can go to my free birthday printables page and look under Birthday Card Printables 2. You’ll also find orange and red colored flowers in the same design.

For this card, the layout idea came from my Pink Owls and Pink Bows card and I’ve only made some slight variations. If you like a layout idea, don’t worry about using the same layout over and over again. It not only saves you time, but you can be sure that you’ll like how the various elements are placed on the card. :)

Firstly, I decided upon using the yellow printable flower, then I chose blue polka dots and pink chevrons patterned paper to layer the yellow flower print. The blue and pink colors are picked up from the yellow flower centers. As the flower petals are in yellow, I’ve selected yellow as the main background color, and used pink satin bows to achieve color harmony for the card.

Tip:  I’ve printed out the yellow flower on normal printing paper and the result isn’t as good as printing it on white cardstock. Cardstock is heavier weight paper with texture and the print result would look much better and more outstanding.
