Brocade Birthday Card

by Ann Craig
(Canberra Australia)

Brocade Birthday Card

Brocade Birthday Card

I made this birthday card for my daughter who loves pink and pearls.

Supplies Used
The Stampin' Up! Pretties Kit was perfect for supplying the half pearls, stick pin and crystals.

I used the Brocade Basics stamp set (Stampin' Up!) and an Emboss Resist technique of stamping.

Cardmaking Steps
First, I clear embossed the main stamp image- giving me the white images. Then I stamped off centre with the River Rock and Versa Mark and embossed again.

I used a brayer to apply the background colour, and added a little sponging in the top left-hand corner. I stamped multiple images of the half flower head in both Pink and River Rock on a separate sheet of white card and glued them at angles to the original flower heads- this formed clusters of flowers.

I attached the ribbons before matting the images onto white then River Rock card stock .

Pearls, stick pin and Happy Birthday tag were added last of all.
