In my card making adventure, I find that besides Christmas cards, birthday cards make up the bulk of my card production. While Christmas card making happens mostly towards the end of the year, birthday card making is an ongoing thing.

Once you start to make cards, you'll tend to create more and more cards. You'll naturally start to look for birthday card making ideas and techniques.

There's many ways to get inspiration for card making.

So far, my best card making inspiration comes from card making magazines. Many times I'll find myself flipping through a magazine, and then some detail about a card catches my attention. The next thing I know, I'm inspired to make a card based on working that new detail into my card creation, or I'll give it a twist to make it my own.

Other times, little ideas just pop into my head and I go about creating the card easily and effortlessly. But I have to say there's occasions when I started out empty-headed and sat for long minutes, before I could figured out what I wanted to create.

If you are a beginner, you'll soon discover that card making can be very fun, satisfying and... addictive! It's a great way to express your creativity and loving thoughts for your family and friends.
