Long White Florals Card
Birthday card design – Make homemade cards for family and friends with these easy and fun card making ideas. On this page, you’ll see how to make a birthday that’ll grab attention with its unusual long shape.
For this card making project, I’ve picked out a card sketch from an ebook, “101 Creative Card Sketches” to create my long card. It’s interesting to see that this ebook carries not only the usual horizontal (landscape), vertical (portrait) and square sketches, but there’s also a section on long card sketches. The good thing with long cards is that it doesn’t need much to make it outstanding. Its unusual long shape already draws attention.
I’ve followed card sketch #100 from the ebook closely. It’s a simple sketch which I believe can be used to create a good number of handmade birthday cards.
The 2-sided patterned paper I’ve used for this card made it really easy for me to build the card. First I’ve used the white floral side as the background. Then I used the solid soft orange side for the center border strip. To complement the color scheme, I looked to the floral colors and picked teal color as my choice for the top center square card.
To add dimension and more interest to the card, I added a fairly big pink bow to the card design.
For the birthday sentiment, you can go to my free birthday printables and look for Happy Birthday Printable WordArt. To use it for your card, you just print it out, cut it and then adhere it.
